Iron County is a county located in the state of Michigan in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Crystal Falls.

Geography

The County is located in west-central Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on the south by Wisconsin and has an area of ​​3137 square kilometers, of which 116 square kilometers are water surface. History

Iron County was formed in 1885 from parts of Marquette County Menominee County and the. It was named after the iron ore occurring in the area.
