Iron Ore Company of Canada

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC ) ( French: Compagnie Minière IOC ) is a Canadian junior mining company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. The company was founded in 1949 by the Canadian and American MA Hanna Company founded. Today, the company is in a consortium which, inter alia, Mitsubishi and Rio Tinto Corporations belong. The capacity is about 22 million tons of iron ore per year.

The company operates mining areas in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. It also operates the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway to transport the raw materials to the Port of Sept- Îles, Quebec. From there, the raw materials are shipped to the worldwide market.
