Iron (II) fumarate is a divalent iron salt of fumaric acid is used in the oral treatment of iron deficiency anemia substitution.

Biological Significance

Iron is absorbed only in its divalent form in the intestine. The intake of the drug should be taken on an empty stomach, because here is the iron absorption is greatest.
