Ironwood Forest National Monument

The Ironwood Forest National Monument is located in Arizona in the United States. The national monument was founded on 9 June 2000 and is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The area includes both land owned by the government, the state of Arizona and private property. The area includes both desert and forests, in which predominantly hardwoods occur, for example, the American hornbeam and the eponymous desert ironwood ( Olneya tesota ). Furthermore, over 200 archaeological sites important Hohokam culture are in this area.

Tourism

The paths in the park are partially only poorly developed. Tourists should carry sufficient water and gasoline, since there is no infrastructure in the park. Campsites are not available, camping is permitted anywhere but up to 14 days without permission.
