Irrfan Khan

Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan (sometimes Irfan Khan, Urdu: عرفان خان, Hindi: इरफ़ान ख़ान, Irfan Khan, born November 30, 1962 in Jaipur, Rajasthan ) is an Indian actor in film, television and theater. His most notable roles he played in The Warrior (2001), Maqbool (2003), Haasil (2003), Namesake - Two worlds, one trip (2006), Life in a ... Metro (2007), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Billu Barber (2009), Life of Pi: Life of Pi (2012 ) and Lunchbox ( 2013). He won the previous two Filmfare Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

Life

Irrfan Khan was born in Jaipur and grew up in a Muslim family. From 1984 to 1987 he studied acting training at the National School of Drama in Delhi. He then moved to Mumbai, where he worked initially in several television series and theater productions.

The Indian filmmaker Mira Nair offered Khan a cameo appearance in her 1988 film Salaam Bombay! of. Subsequently, he worked regularly in most cases less successful film productions.

Irrfan Khan is married to Sutapa Sikdar, another graduate of the National School of Drama. They have two sons.
