İrsen Küçük

Irsen Küçük ( * 1940 in Nicosia ) is a politician and served from May 2010 to June 2013 Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Biography

After schooling Küçük, a nephew of the first Vice- President of Northern Cyprus Fazıl Küçük began in 1962 to study at the Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Conservation and agricultural irrigation and 1966 employees in the State Water Board of Turkey after the completion of studies. Subsequently, he was 1968-1973 Industrial Engineering in Veterinary of Northern Cyprus, before he became self-employed in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry in the private sector.

Shortly after he joined, founded by Rauf Denktash on October 11, 1975 Ulusal Birlik Partisi (UBP ) and in 1976 and 1981 elected as representatives of Nicosia in the Provisional Parliament.

In July 1976 he was appointed by Prime Minister Nejat Konuk Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet and held that post in the subsequent governments of ÖREK Osman and Mustafa Çağatay to 1981 from. After that, he was 1981-1982 Minister of Natural Resources and Energy in the government Çağatay before he was from 1982 to 1983 Minister of Health, Welfare and Labour in the Cabinet.

In December 1983, he was nominated as one of their candidates for the first elections to the first Parliament of the Republic on June 23, 1985. In the elections he was elected Members of Parliament and re-elected in the early general elections in 1993 for the constituency of Nicosia. He is also President of the Ulusal Birlik Partisi in the Nicosia District.

After the parliamentary elections of 6 December 1998, he was appointed in the formed of Derviş Eroğlu coalition government of UBP and Toplumcu Kurtuluş Partisi ( TKP ) to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and took office even after Eroğlu in June 2001, a coalition government with the Democrat Parti ( DP) was formed. After the electoral defeat of the UBP in the parliamentary elections of December 2003, he resigned from the government and instead was in 2004 Secretary General of the UBP.

The last parliamentary elections on April 18, 2009 were won by the UBP again, which now possessed an absolute majority. After the election of Derviş Eroğlu and guided by Hüseyin Özgürgün transitional government he was on 9 May 2010, first chairman of the Ulusal Birlik Partisi and finally on 17 May 2010, officially Prime Minister. On June 5, 2013, was toppled by a vote of no confidence by the Parliament. On 13 June 2013, the Sibel Siber followed as prime minister.
