Iru (Tallinn)

Iru is a municipality (Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn. The district is located in Pirita district.

Iru is located on the eastern shore of the river Pirita ( Pirita Jõgi ) on the Tallinn city limits. The northern part of the autonomous village Iru was 1975, the City of Tallinn incorporated. The municipality has only 33 inhabitants (as of 1 May 2010).

Iru Linnamägi

On a 15 -meter-high hill lay before the Christianisation of Estonia a fortified settlement system of the pagan Estonians.
