Irvette van Zyl

Irvette van Zyl (born van Blerk, born July 5, 1987 in Sandton ) is a South African long-distance runner.

In 2002 she won the Zevenheuvelenloop in 51:06 minutes, the fastest time ever achieved a runner under the age of 16 at the distance.

In 2010 she was as in the previous South African champion in the 10,000 m. She was also second in the half marathon competition of the Two Oceans Marathon and took the national title in the half marathon and 10- km road race. 2011, she was eighth at the New York City Half-Marathon and again on the second half-distance the Two Oceans Marathon.

The following year, she ventured for the first time on the 42.195 -km distance. At the London Marathon she placed 18th place and qualified with her ​​time of 2:33:41 hours for the marathon of the 2012 Olympics in London.
