Irving Kahn

Irving Kahn ( born December 19, 1905 in New York City, New York) is an American financial analyst. He is the oldest active asset managers in the world, he was also one of the first disciple of Benjamin Graham, the inventor of the value investing method. He is currently chairman of Kahn Brothers Group, Inc.

Life

After his education at the City College of New York, he began his career in 1928 as the second assistant to Benjamin Graham at Columbia Business School. In the summer of 1929, a few months before Black Thursday, he made his first short sale.

Graham had such a great impact on the lives of Irving Kahn that Kahn called his third son, who was born in 1942, Thomas Graham. In 1978 he founded with his two sons, Alan and Thomas Kahn Brothers Group, Inc. According to the state of the SEC on November 9, 2011, totals the value of all funds that are connected with the company, over 950 million dollars. His son Thomas is currently the President of the company. Kahn was also a long -time president of the New York "Job and Career Centers ." It also supports the " Jewish Foundation for Education of Women". 2011 died his sister Helen, shortly before her 110th birthday. In 2005, his other sister Lee died at the age of 101 years. His younger brother Peter died in 2014 at the age of 103 years.
