Irwin Goodman

Irwin Goodman (actually: Antti Yrjö Hammarberg, born September 14, 1943 in Hämeenlinna, † January 14, 1991 in Hamina ) was a Finnish folk musicians.

Career

He has published about 300 titles to more than 20 albums. The pieces he composed for the most part itself The lyrics deal mainly political and socio-critical issues, but also to everyday problems such as alcoholism and financial problems. They reflected partly his own life also resist: he himself was suffering from alcoholism, and there were disputes with the Finnish tax authority. Irwin Goodman finally died at the age of 47 of a heart attack. After his death, his life was filmed. The film is titled Rentun Ruusu. He was awarded the Jussi Award in 2002 and was seen already on German television with subtitles.
