Isa Qassim

Sheikh Isa Qassim (* 1940 in Diraz, Bahrain ), full name: Isa Qassim al - Ahmad al - Bahraini Dirazi, is the most senior Shia religious scholars in Bahrain with the religious title Ayatollah. As the spiritual leader of the Wefaq Society applies Qassim as a "man of Iran " who sympathizes more than just with the political system of Iran.

Training

Early 60s left Qassim Bahrain and began his religious studies in Najaf, including Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr in. In the 90s he moved to study and moved to Qom. There he received before his return to Bahrain, around 2001, the religious title Ayatollah. In contrast to the Bahraini Shiites ( about 70 percent of Muslims ) who are of Iraqi origin and predominantly Najaf and Grand Ayatollah Ali al -Sistani recognize as spiritual leader, Ali Qassim Chamene'i looks at as a leader.

At the protests in Bahrain from 2011 Qassims attitude is viewed critically, since he did not ask to renounce violence.
