Isaac ben Joseph ibn Pulgar

Isaac ben Joseph ibn polegar was a living and acting in Spain in the early 15th century Jewish scholar.

In his essay ezer ha - dat ( " help of religion " ) he tried to Christianity (especially compared to the writings of Alfonso de Valladolid ) highlight the absolute liability, irrevocability and superiority of the Torah. He pointed strongly to the redemption obviously not yet occurred and rejected the claim that the unfortunate fate of the Jews was proof of the rejection of Israel by God. In the specific situation of Spanish Jewry, it seemed appropriate in principle to support the existence of the Jewish religion in this way.
