Isaac Gálvez

Isaac Gálvez Lopez ( born May 20, 1975 in Vilanova i la Geltrú, † November 26, 2006 in Ghent ) was a Spanish cyclist.

Even before the start of his professional career Gálvez could win along with Joan Llaneras the 1999 world title in a two - team movement on the path. In the two years that followed the two drivers each won the Silver Medal, 2006, they were once again World Champion. In 2000, he competed at the Olympics and finished together with Llaneras 13th place; in the team pursuit, he ended up with the Spanish team ranked 12th

In his first year as a pro in 2000 at Kelme -Costa Blanca, he won the Clasica de Almeria. Particularly successful, the Spaniards cut off at the Mallorca Challenge. From 2002 to 2006 he won six of the one-day races. In 2004 he moved then to Illes Balears. In his new team he won International stages in the Catalan Week, the Tour of Catalonia and the Critérium.

Isaac Gálvez Lopez died after a fall on 26 November 2006 at the Six Days of Ghent. He was previously collided with the Belgian rider Dimitri De Fauw. The 31 -year-old crashed during a chase in a gang and lost consciousness. He had broken his neck in a fall. In addition, a rib had pierced his heart, so he bled to death internally on the way to hospital.
