Isaac Lea

Isaac Lea ( born March 4, 1792 in Wilmington, Delaware; † December 8, 1886 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was an American Conchologe, geologist and businessman. He was co-owner of a large publishing house in Philadelphia. He devoted his leisure to the collection and study of natural history artifacts. His particular interest was the molluscs. Its collections are now in the National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC to find. He was also in 1860 President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
