Isaac P. Walker

Isaac Pigeon Walker ( born November 2, 1815 in Wheeling, Virginia, now West Virginia, † March 29, 1872 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party. From 1848 to 1855 he sat for the U.S. state of Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.

Biography

Walker was born in what was then Virginia. He and his family moved in 1825 to Illinois, where he worked as a lawyer in Springfield. In the House of Representatives from Illinois he was a legislative period. In 1841 he then moved to Wisconsin. In Milwaukee, he settled down again, to be active as a lawyer. 1848, when the state of Wisconsin was, he was sent as the first Senator, next to Henry Dodge, in the Federal Senate. In 1855 he retired again.

In 1872, he died in Milwaukee, where he was also buried. His brother George H. Walker was twice mayor of Milwaukee.
