Isaac S. Struble

Isaac S. Struble (* November 3, 1843 at Fredericksburg, Virginia, † February 17, 1913 in Le Mars, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1883 and 1891 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

At an early age came Isaac Struble with his parents in the Johnson County in Iowa. There he attended the public schools. Between 1862 and 1865 he participated as a soldier from Iowa Infantierieeinheit part in the civil war. He was involved in several battles in which he was wounded. After the war Struble worked in 1866 for a short time as an accountant in St. Louis ( Missouri). After a subsequent study of law and its made ​​in 1870 admitted to the bar, he began practicing in his new profession in Polo ( Illinois). In 1872 he moved to Le Mars, Iowa. There he worked with his older brother James as a lawyer.

Politically, Struble member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1882 he was elected to the newly created Eleventh constituency of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington. There he met on March 4, 1883 at its new mandate. After three re- elections, he was able to complete 1891 four contiguous legislatures in Congress until March 3. Between 1889 and 1891 he was chairman of the committee that dealt with the U.S. territories. In 1890, he was not nominated by his party. In the following years he worked again as a lawyer. Isaac Struble was married to Adelaide Stone since 1884; the couple had five children. Struble died in February 1913 in Le Mars, and was also buried there.
