Isaac Tigrett

Isaac Tigrett ( born 1947 in Jackson, Tennessee) is an American entrepreneur and founder of the restaurant chain Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues.

Life

Tigrett founded on June 14, 1971 together with Peter Morton, the first Hard Rock Café in London's Mayfair. The compilation of rock music, fast food and many memorabilia and musical instruments by famous artists proved so successful that soon followed by other branches. Tigrett and Morton, the company split up; Tigrett owned the rights in the states east of the Mississippi, and ( with few exceptions ) the rest of the world, while Morton held the rights for the states west of the Mississippi as well as Israel, Colombia and Australia. Finally Tigrett sold his shares to Mecca Leisure.

In 1992, Tigrett along with Dan Aykroyd, the first House of Blues. Other investors were Harvard University and later The Walt Disney Company. After differences of opinion on the board of HOB he left this 1998. Afterwards he founded an Internet site called The Spirit Channel, but which failed.

Tigrett, who is regarded as followers of the guru Sathya Sai Baba was, from 1989 until her death in 1994 with Maureen Tigrett, the former wife of Ringo Starr married.
