At age 13 she had her first appearance in a talent competition. She attended the High School Luise Dusseldorf. In 1980 she won third place among 6000 participants in a competition for young RTL Radio and was promoted in 1981 by music producer Jack White. In 1984 she had her first success with dreaminess.
