Isabella II of Jerusalem

Called Yolanda of Brienne, and Yolanda or Isabella II of Jerusalem, (* 1212 in Acre, † April 25, 1228 in Andria ) was Queen of Jerusalem and wife of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II.

Life

She was born as the daughter of the King and Queen of Jerusalem John of Brienne and Mary of Montferrat in Acre. Since the royal dignity stemmed from her mother, her father after her death in 1212 no direct claim to the throne. Instead, Isabella 1212, its successor as Queen of Jerusalem. They stayed in August 1227 in the Crusader camp near Brindisi in Frederick, during a devastating plague raged among the Crusaders. Here their son Conrad was conceived.
