Isaev (crater)

84.85

Isaev is an impact crater on the side of the moon and therefore can not be observed directly from Earth. It is located in the northwestern area inside the crater Gagarin, from which it is enclosed entirely. The northwestern outer edge of Isaev touches the inner wall of Gagarin.

Although Isaev is younger than Gagarin, he has yet to severe erosion traces. The southern crater rim is broken by the smaller satellite crater ' Isaev N'. The entire crater rim and the interior walls are scarred by small craterlets. Along the western inner wall of a short chain of such craterlets forms a furrow. The crater floor has a large three-lobed patch of material with a low albedo. These dark spots on the moon are typically caused by basaltic lava flows.
