Isaia Toeava

Isaia Toeava (born 15 January 1986 Moto'otua, Samoa ) is a rugby union player from New Zealand. Also known as " Ice", he was only 19 years and without any experience in the Super 14 or Air New Zealand Cup, the surprise in the selection of the All Blacks in their year-end tour in 2005, where he was even off the bench for a game. His greatest strengths are his pure speed and his ability to occupy multiple positions in the back line.

Since his debut at the All Blacks he has played mainly on the position of the inner three quarter in professional rugby. But he can also play as wings and full goalkeeper. In his youth teams, he was sometimes even as a compound semiconductor is used. He currently plays for Auckland in the Air New Zealand Cup. In the Super 14 2006 season he played for the Hurricanes and came with them to the finals where they were narrowly defeated the Crusaders. Since the 2007 season, Toeava played for the Blues.

He was an important part of the success of the Blues in the Super 14 season in 2007, as he scored four tries and prepared numerous other attempts by the internal three-quarter position. He is widely regarded as the root interior Three-quarters ( No.13 ) for the All Blacks. A position that could be since Tana Umagas resignation of any player completely filled.

Toeava has represented New Zealand in rugby and 7 series in the New Zealand U-19. He was awarded the IRB U- 19 Player of the Year in 2005.
