Ise (Mie)
Ise (Japanese伊 势 市, -shi, until 1955 Ujiyamada ) is a city in Mie Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshu. It lies on the Shima Peninsula in the Ise Bay, south of Nagoya.
The city is located in the midst of an agricultural region, where tea and oranges are grown. However, lacquer ware, paper and electrical goods are produced in Ise. At the waterfront there are several shipyards.

Ise is located west of Toba and south of Tsu in Ise Bay
Attractions
The sanctuary is home to the Ise Shrine ( Ise Jingū ), the highest Shinto shrine in the country.
