Isen is a market in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding and is located in the upper Isental approximately 40 km east of Munich. It is the southernmost and sixth largest with more than 5,000 inhabitants municipality in the district of Erding.
Geography
The market Isen is located about 20 km southeast of the county town of Erding, 11 km southwest of Villages, 26 km north-west of Wasserburg am Inn, 18 km north of Ebersberg. The distance from Munich Airport is 34 km.

History
The first mention was made in the year 747, the first church in Isen is 752 certified. The monastery is one of the oldest monasteries Isen on altbayerischem ground. In 1434, Isen was awarded market rights. Since the Middle Ages, the market was one of the Bishopric of Freising scoring rule Burgrain. With the Imperial Diet of 1803 the city became part of Bavaria. Isen was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818 an independent political community. 1 July 1972, Isen comes through the territorial reform of the dissolved district Wasserburg the district of Erding.

Monuments
The Catholic parish church of St. Zeno, the former Kollegiatsstiftkirche the monastery of St. Zeno, is a three-aisled basilica with a crypt and three apses.
