Isfahan Province
Esfahan (Persian استان اصفهان [ ostɔ ː ne ː n esfæɦɔ ], alternative spelling: Isfahan) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It is named after its eponymous capital.
In the province of 4,559,256 people ( 2006 census ). The province covers 107 029 square kilometers and has a population density of 43 inhabitants per square kilometer.
Geography
Esfahan is located in the center of the country. It is bordered to the north by the provinces Markazi, Qom and Semnan, on the south by the provinces of Fars, Kohkiluyeh and Buyer Ahmad, on the east by the province of Yazd and to the west by the provinces of Lorestan and Chahar Mahal and Bachtiyārī.
