Ishaq ibn Ali

Ishaq ibn Ali (Arabic إسحاق بن علي, DMG Ishaq b ʿ Alī; . † April 1147 in Marrakech) was from 1146 until his assassination in the last ruler of the dynasty of the Almoravids.

After the death of Ali ibn Tashfin (r. 1142-1146 ) that initially followed his son Ibrahim to the throne, but was deposed in the same year. The rule was then at his uncle Ishaq ibn Ali Taschfins brother, who was then still a child, and the downfall of Almoravidenreiches could not stop: Even in 1146 the Almohads took a nine- month siege Fez and so took control of northern Morocco.
