Ishpatina Ridge

Ishpatina Ridge is the highest point in the Canadian province of Ontario.

It is located around 90 km north of the city of Sudbury, near Temagami in Timiskaming District. With an estimated height of 693 m ( in some sources also 690 m are called ) projects the rather flat hill barely out of also increased lying area in the middle of the Canadian Shield forth.

The hill is not easily accessible: He is in the midst of the Lady Evelyn - Smooth Water Provincial Park, more than 30 km from Highway 560 away. The name " Ishpatina " comes from the word " ishpadinaa " in the language of the Ojibwa Indians, meaning " high hill / hill chain " means.
