Isiah Koech

Isiah Koech Kiplangat (also Isaiah Koech Kiplangat; * December 19, 1993 in Kericho ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

Koech in 2009 in Bressanone World Youth champion in 3000 -meter run. At the World Cross Country Championships 2010 in Bydgoszcz, he finished in the junior race in fourth place and won with the Kenyan team's national rankings. He received international attention in February 2011 when he won the 5000 -meter race at the PSD Bank Indoor Meeting in Dusseldorf ahead of his compatriot Eliud Kipchoge. The winning time of 17- year-olds of 12:53,29 min was the fourth-fastest ever spilled into the hall time over this distance. Shortly thereafter he grew in Ghent the Junior World Indoor record in the 3,000 meters to 7:37,50 min. In March, he was at the World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbria Tenth and helped Kenya to defend the team title.
