The Islamic Commission of Spain (Spanish: Comisión Islamica de España, abbreviation CIE ) is the legal representative of Muslims and Islamic organizations to the Spanish society and the government. Its tasks are representation, negotiation, signing and implementation of agreements between the state and Islam, laid down in Law 26/ 1992. The Islamic Commission of Spain meets regularly with representatives of the Government in the Joint Joint Commission and in addition to informal discussions with the Minister presiding over legislative initiatives as well as the managing authority for Religious Affairs in the Ministry of Justice. It has its headquarters in Madrid.

Historical Summary

In 1967, it was announced in Spain the first law, which officially allowed the Muslims to organize themselves. After centuries of exclusion of Muslims from the Spanish Society in 1968, the first Muslim Association was constituted with local significance in Melilla, and in 1971, at a national level and is based in Madrid, the " Asociación Musulmana en España " (AME ). According to the current Constitution, the Constitutional Law of Religious Freedom was put into effect and so the "Union of Islamic Communities of Spain " constituted (Spanish: Unión de Comunidades Islámicas de España, abbr UCIDE ), as was the "Spanish Federation of Islamic religious bodies " ( spanish: Federación Española de Entidades Religiosas Islámicas, abbreviation FEERI ) was established, which form together make up the Islamic Commission of Spain ( CIE), which in turn in the " Muslim Council for cooperation in Europe " (French: Conseil de musulman coopération en Europe, CMCE ) is involved.

Representatives

The management of the CIE is composed of the presidents of the two members, and UCIDE FEERI:

  • President ( for the UCIDE ): Riay Tatary, Prior of the " Orden del Mérito Civil" and vice president of CMCE.
  • Vice-President ( for the FEERI ): Mohamed Hamed Ali, President of the Islamic community in Ceuta.
