Islamic Society of Engineers

The Islamic Society of Engineers (Persian جامعه اسلامی مهندسین; Jame'e -ye -e Eslaami Mohandesin, short JEM, In English: Islamic Society of Engineers, ISE ) is a political organization founded in 1988 that in the Iranian parliament, the Majlis, belongs to the conservative alliance of the traditionalist right.

Development

The company was founded at the end of the Iran- Iraq war with the goal of " increasing the Islamic, political, scientific and technical knowledge of the Muslim people of Iran " and to continue the " campaign against foreign cultural agents from East and West ."

Famous members of society Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the sixth President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Bahonar, general secretary of the Company and the First Vice President of the Majlis and Morteza Nabavi, deputy general secretary of the Company and a member of Iran's Expediency Council.

Although the subsequent election winner Ahmadinejad is a member of the Society of Engineers, he was initially not supported in the Iranian presidential election in 2005, because these aufstellte Ali Larijani as its candidate. After Larijani around 6% received Ahmadinejad, however, about 19 % went to the runoff election against Rafsanjani, this supported the then future President.
