Íslenzk fornrit

HID íslenzka fornritafélag is a publishing house that created by Old Icelandic texts ( such as the Icelandic sagas ) standardized editions with extensive introductions and extensive notes. They are used especially within the Old Norse research.

This publishing company was founded in 1928 by Jón Ásbjörnsson and published from 1933 onwards the number Íslenzk Fornrit with a focus on medieval Icelandic literature. The publications are distributed by HID Íslenzka Bókmenntafélag.
