ISO 3166-2:NL

The list of ISO -3166 -2 codes for Netherlands contains the codes for the 12 Dutch provinces ( provincies ), three parts of the country in the Caribbean and three special municipalities.

The codes are composed of two parts which are separated by a hyphen. The first part indicates the country code according to ISO 3166-1 ( for The Netherlands NL ), the second the code for the province, the region or the particular community. The current country code is in the Newsletter II-3 dated 13 December 2011 (PDF ) last updated.

For the particular communities and the areas in the Caribbean also separate codes exist according to ISO 3166-2. These are ISO 3166-2: Aw, BQ, CW and SX.
