Isola di Capo Rizzuto

Isola di Capo Rizzuto is a southern Italian municipality ( Comune ) with 16,331 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Crotone in Calabria. The community is located about 17 kilometers southwest of Crotone. The municipality is situated on an isthmus in a seismically very active area. The titular Isola goes to the bishop seat back here.

Traffic

At the site over the Strada Statale 106 which is here equal distance with the European route 90 leads. About three kilometers north lies the Crotone Airport. Several districts ( Capo Rizzuto, Le Cannella, Le Castella and Marinella ) lie next to the Ionian Sea. In the Area naturale marina protetta Capo Rizzuto off the coast water is partially banned, partially permitted only under strict conditions. The area is protected by the Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution ( Barcelona Convention 1976).
