iSport International

ISport International is a British motor racing team that currently runs in the GP2 series. The team was founded, inter alia, by Paul Jackson in 2005. iSport International has once each driver and won the team title of the GP2 Series. Since 2014 iSport oversees the operations of the Russian Time project.

ISport in GP2 Series

2005

The debut season of the GP2 Series in 2005 successfully launched for iSport, as the team posted the fastest time in the battle for the starting numbers and thus was allowed to start in the season with the numbers 1 and 2. However, this success was in 2005 the only, as the drivers Scott Speed and Can Artam could win a race. In the team standings, the iSport International team reached the fourth place.

2006

For the 2006 season iSport driver Ernesto Viso and obliged the Tristan Gommendy. Already in the second sprint race saw Viso for their first win of iSport International. In the middle of the season Gommendy was replaced by the coming of BCN Competición Timo Glock. Overall iSport won four races in 2006. Two by Viso and two by Glock. 2007

The GP2 Series 2007 season is now up to the most successful season of iSport. Timo Glock stayed with the team and the second cockpit was the starting for the UAE Austrian Andreas Zuber. Glock finally prevailed against Lucas di Grassi and won the GP2 series in the last race in Valencia. iSport won six races in 2007. Five times won Glock, once Zuber. In addition, iSport International won the 2007 for the first time the team title GP2. 2008

For the 2008 GP2 Series season, Karun Chandhok committed iSport and Bruno Senna, the nephew of three -time world champion Ayrton Senna. In the inaugural GP2 Asia Series iSport did not win a race. 2009

Also in the second season of the GP2 Asia Series iSport went to the start. As pilots Giedo van der Garde and Hamad Al Fardan were committed.

Former iSport driver in Formula 1

Scott Speed drove to his involvement with iSport in 2006 and 2007 for the Scuderia Toro Rosso. In the course of the 2007 season he was replaced by Sebastian Vettel.

Timo Glock recommended himself by winning the GP2 Series for Formula 1 and has been committed by the Toyota team for the 2008 season.
