Israel Friedman of Ruzhyn

Israel Friedmann of Ruschyn ( Israel Friedmann, Yisroel Friedman of Ruschyn; * 1797 in Pohrebysche, .. † 27 Septemberjul / October 9 1850greg in Sadigora ) ( ישראל פרידמאןמרוז'ין ) was a Hasidic rabbi, who also serves as the heyliker rizhiner, " the Holy One of Ruschyn " was known. In 1838 he was accused of complicity in the death of two Jews who were in the suspicion of espionage and imprisoned by the Russian authorities for two years.

After his release, he escaped further persecution by the authorities. He fled first to Chisinau, Iasi and in other places, before finally in 1847 finally settling in Sadigora. There he established his court in all its glory restored. In the same year his wife died and he married Malka, the Rabbi Hersh of Rimanov widow. In October 1850 Israel Friedmann died and was buried in Sadigora.

His six sons founded a Hasidic dynasty all, including the Sadigura, Boyan, Chortkov, Husyatin and Bohush.
