Israel Ochoa

Israel Antonio Ochoa Plazas ( born August 26, 1964 in Paipa ) is a Colombian road cyclist.

Israel Ochoa began his career in 1992 at the Colombian cycling team Gaseosas Glacial. In the 1996 season he won the overall classification at the Clásico RCN, the next year he was successful in the Vuelta a Boyaca and in 1998 he was first overall at the Vuelta a Cundinamarca. In 2000 he drove for the team aguardiente Néctar - Selle Italia, where he was a Colombian national time trial champion. In the 2002 season, Ochoa won a stage at the Vuelta a Colombia. The next year he won a portion of the Clasica del Meta, and a stage of the Vuelta a Boyaca, where he also decided the overall standings for themselves. In 2004 he was a Colombian national time trial champion and road races. He also won a stage at the Doble Copacabana Grand Prix Fides, as well as a stage and the overall at the Vuelta a Costa Rica. In the 2005 season he was successful on the first section of the Gran Premio Mercanapro and so could the Appreciation decide for themselves. He also won stages at the Vuelta a Boyaca, the Clasica del Meta, at the Vuelta a Antioquia and the Doble Copacabana Grand Prix Fides. 2006 Ochoa won again a stage and the overall at the Vuelta a Boyaca. The next year he won a stage in each Clasica Club Deportivo Boyacá and at the Vuelta a los Santa Deres, as well as two sections of the Clásico RCN. In the 2008 season he was successful at the first stage of the Clasica Ciudad de Girardot and he was re- Colombian national time trial champion.
