Israeli (newspaper)

Israeli (Hebrew: ישראלי, literally Israeli) was a Hebrew -language Israeli daily newspaper, who gave it for free at train stations, bus stations and Delek gas stations. Based on the concept of the free daily newspaper Metro it was aimed at a young, urban and mobile audience. It first appeared in 2006, at the beginning for a short time under the title Israeli News.

The newspaper was Sheldon Adelson and Hirsch Media (owned by Shlomo Ben-Zvi ). The initial budget was estimated at 35 million U.S. dollars over three to four years. The goal was Israel's newspaper No. 2 behind Jedi'ot to be Aharonot. However, Adelson out due to disagreements of 2007 the main financial source. With the establishment of Israel Hayom free newspaper similarly designed by Adelson in the same year Israeli was quickly pushed out of the market. In January 2008, the newspaper has been set.
