Issigau

Issigau is a municipality in the district of Hof in Upper Franconia and a member of the administrative community Lichtenberg. The mission statement of the church is " community Issigau - Gateway to the Franconian Forest ".

Geography

Geographical location

The community Issigau lies on the eastern edge of the Natural Park Franconian Forest. The municipality is crossed by the Issig, a tributary of the Selbitz. The rivers Saale and Selbitz form the municipal boundary to the north and west. In the district of Wolfenstein, opposite Blankenstein, opens the Selbitz into the Saale. In the northwest the hell valley lies partly in the municipality.

History

Issigau in 1398 first mentioned. The village was first part of the manor Reitsenstein. Later Issigau was independent manor. 1796, the property was sequestered by Prussia. In the Peace of Tilsit 1807 Issigau coincided with the Prussian principality of Bayreuth to France and then became part of Bavaria. The spelling of the name varied over time between Ißiga, Issigau, Issigau, Issigau and Issigau. Local dialect of the place is called Nissja. The community Issigau emerged in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, with the municipality edict of 1818. Beginning of the 20th century there were considerations for a railway connection to hell in the form of a branch line of the group III. Provided were the following stations: Hell ( Bhf, branch of the railway line Triptis Marx Green), New Mill = Eichenstein ( Hp ), Issigau ( Hst ) and Reitsenstein ( Lbf. ). In the turmoil of the war and post-war period, the project came to a standstill.

Incorporations

At the municipal reform the then independent municipality Kemlas was incorporated on 1 January 1975. On May 1, 1978, added the majority of the dissolved municipality Reitsenstein.

Policy

The council is composed of twelve councilors and the mayor. In the election period 2008-2014 the council seats are distributed as follows:

  • CSU: 7 seats
  • SPD: 2 seats
  • Party Free citizens: 3 seats

Mayor Gemeinhardt (CSU ) was for the legislature with 97.1 % of the vote confirmed in office with a voter turnout of 73.48 %.

Culture and sights

Clubs

  • The Turnverein (TV) Issigau organized since 1897 the sport in Issigau. Priorities today are dancing, gymnastics, and unicycling.
  • The football team of VfL Issigau 1921 plays in the circle class Franconian Forest of the Bavarian Football Association.
  • In 1951, the SC Oak Stone Issigau was founded. The club was originally a pure ski club and the district Eichenstein one of the cradles of the cross-country skiing in the Franconian Forest. When enough snow in a ski track Issigau - Reitsenstein sintered Lawn Griesbach- Issigau is operated. The club takes part in competitions and is also active table tennis next to the cross-country skiing.
  • The miners' club Issigau was founded in 1959. The association is reminiscent of the mining tradition in Issigau. Every year in December, a Barbara celebration is organized.
  • Collect the tractor Reitsenstein friends and renew old tractors and take part with his tractor at meetings in the region and nationally. Thus, the association is also represented at the vintage tractors World Championships. In 2008, the World Championships will be held at the Grossglockner in Austria. Self- organize the tractor Friends tractor meeting in Reitsenstein (→ Regular events ) and a meeting of tractors of the brand Guldner in Issigau.
  • In Issigau, Reitsenstein and Kemlas there are volunteer fire and related fire service clubs.

Regular events

  • The Issig Auer Wiesenfest takes place in late June / early July with a parade. The fairground with beer tent and carnival rides is on the school road. The Issig Auer groups and clubs draw with musical accompaniment by the place.
  • In the district Reitsenstein the tractor friends Reitsenstein organize every year in June a meeting with skill tractor rides, tractor show and a ride from the district Reitsenstein after Issigau and back again.
