Istanbulspor (Turkish: İstanbulspor ) is a sports club based in Istanbul. The club was a founding member of the highest Turkish league and played in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1990s and 2000s a total of 13 seasons in the Süper Lig in the Eternal table of the Süper Lig club is located on the 22nd place. With this placement, the club is in accordance with the designated as the Three Great clubs Istanbul Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe 's fourth most successful club in the world metropolis of Istanbul, which was active in the highest Turkish league. History

The club was founded on 4 January 1926 by students of the high school İstanbul Lisesi and was one of the first sports clubs in the Turkish Republic. He initially named Konstantin Opel SK, 1930 İstanbulspor Külübü. In the 1931/32 season the club also won the Turkish Cup adjacent to Istanbul title. By 1990, many ascents and descents followed in and out of the first Turkish league, in 1983 the relegation to the third tier. Then the club was purchased by the Turkish media entrepreneur and member of the Uzan family Cem Uzan and İstanbulspor A.Ş. renamed. Five years later, the promotion to the first division and Istanbulspor managed to establish itself again as a successful club. After the Uzan family, however, their financial commitment withdrew again in 2001, the club had no more to keep enough money in the long run in the highest Turkish football league. Followed in 2003 by the bankruptcy and the takeover of the insolvent association by the state. After many years of excellence in the Turkcell Süper Lig led a poor season in 2004 /05 to descend into the Türk Telekom Lig A. The resurgence has been missed in the playoffs. In 2006, the Marmara Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Spor Faaliyetleri purchase the club for 3.25 million U.S. dollars.

Colours and Coat of Arms

The colors of İstanbulspor are yellow and black, while the colors of İstanbul Lisesi. Yellow and white is used as another color combination. The club crest includes a Turkish crescent in the upper left corner and the crest of the İstanbul Lisesi in the middle.
