ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating

The World Team Trophy is a veranstalteter by the International Skating Union World Figure Skating team competition at the end of the skating season.

History

Traditionally finished the World Figure Skating Championships the season. The World Team Trophy was launched in 2008 to promote the goal Nations to encourage skaters in all four disciplines. The World Team Trophy was first held in April 2009 in Tokyo. The United States won the first team competition. The prize money in 2009 was one million dollars, the highest prize money in an ISU competition at all. The winning nation got $ 200,000.

Mode

Each of the six best nations of the season sends two men, two women, a pair of running pair and ice dance. In the Olympic team competition, however, only a man and a woman will be allowed in a single run. For each placement, there are points for first place 12 points, tied for second place 11 points for third place 10 points and so on, so that the last individual runners still gets a point and the last pair skating and ice dance 7 points.
