Isuzu i-Series

The Isuzu i-Series pickup was introduced at the New York International Auto Show 2005. The i- series replaced in North America in the model offer the Isuzu Hombre, which was already no longer produced since 2000.

As the Hombre ( on the compact Chevrolet S- 10 based ) also used the i-Series, the vehicle platform of the then mid-size pickups, Chevrolet LUV, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon from General Motors. Cab and chassis came from Isuzu D- Max, also the General Motors do Brasil produced.

The i- series was produced by Louisiana GM factory in Shreveport with the sister models of GM. 2006, there were as aggregates the Atlas -2 ,8- l - and Atlas -3 ,5 -liter petrol engines with 4- speed automatic and 5 -speed manual transmission with front - or all-wheel drive available. From 2007, the Atlas -2 ,9- l - and Atlas -3 ,7- gasoline engines were used.

The sales of the i- series were bad, after the start of production until February 2006, according to Automotive News only 1377 units were sold. After GM had sold his shares in Isuzu, Isuzu decided to withdraw from the North American market. 2008 ended local production and sales in 2009.
