To the date of publication is often discussed. While it officially was that the album was released on 22 May 2007 around the world, there are also some countries that a few days earlier had the pleasure, or even later.

Even before the album's release, the band stated that this album is different than her previous. Although the matter was as much about love as in Songs About Jane, but the matter was not only a single relationship. Also the sound is different, as the singer of the band, Adam Levine says, the album is more energetic and much faster than its predecessor, but still retains the typical Maroon 5 sound. The inspiration for this album were, among others, Prince, Talking Heads and Michael Jackson.

Adam Levine also stated that this album is a little stronger and more confident, especially in the textual field is: " ... you can dance to it, is there anyway multiple pages, from which you can look at it. "

One reason why the album " harder" sound than the previous one, is Maroon 5s new drummer, Matt Flynn. This is after he has for Ryan Dusick, the actual drummer of the band played live, over two years, in September 2006 became the final drummer, since Dusick had to leave the band because of his shoulder problems.

Dusick but is still titled as a " Musical Director " on It Will not Be Soon Before Long.

The second single, Wake Up Call, but was not last nearly as successful Makes Me Wonder by some very action-packed video.

Will not Go Home Without You, the third single from the album, on the other hand needed some more time to start it in the first place was a little noticed, because even though it was published in January 2008, began at the end of February and mid-March 2008 radio stations in Europe (partly also in America) the song to play.

The title " Nothing Lasts Forever" contains almost the same chorus as in Kanye West's song " Heard 'Em Say ", "which he co-wrote with Adam Levine. Was surprised especially many fans, this is exactly contains this song in the album, although it, thanks to Kanye, something is already known.

Criticism

Since the album was released nearly five years after the release of their last album, many critics were disappointed that " ... one in five years is nothing better than the riff ". Also, the fact that more than 10 million records were sold from Songs About Jane, did not make things easy. Many critics felt that the music would have to very modified and now only this is done, which will not hear the world, and Maroon 5 does not remain true to their style.

Nevertheless, there is some good reviews that say, It Will not Be Soon Before Long would be even better and more mature than its predecessor.
