Italian National Olympic Committee

The Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano ( CONI ) is the umbrella organization of all Italian sports associations.

History

It was founded on July 10, 1914 as part of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Over 65,000 sports clubs are members of the Association. Be recognized by the CONI in Italy:

  • 47 sports associations
  • 17 related disciplines and
  • 17 institutions for the promotion of the national sport

The associated Coni Servizi SpA services company that is responsible for the economic side, is fully owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance.
