Itaparica Island

Itaparica is an island in the bay of Baía de Todos os Santos ( "Bay of All Saints' Day ") and an eponymous Brazilian county located in the state of Bahia in Brazil. The island's capital also bears the name of Itaparica.

The population of the island is specified with 20 941 inhabitants ( 2004). The Itaparica Island is located about 50 minutes by car ferry from Salvador. A ferry takes visitors from downtown Salvador in 15 minutes with a catamaran speed boat to the island.

The island of Itaparica is considered as a recreational area of Salvador. There are there many tourist facilities.
