Itapevi is a Municipio in the southwest of the state of São Paulo in Brazil. In the municipality of 205 881 inhabitants.
History
The village was founded in the 18th century. On 10 July 1875, the first railway station was inaugurated. After a referendum in 1958, the vast majority of the population voted in favor of the municipal autonomy. February 18, 1959 Itapevi was officially Municipio. The first mayor of the township was Rubens Caramez.
