The Itasca State Park is the oldest state park in the U.S. state of Minnesota, and forms the watershed between the north and flowing into the Gulf of Mexico waters. 1965 Itasca Natural Area was added to the park as a National Natural Landmark.

The Itasca State Park is about 130 km ² in size and are located in over 100 lakes him. In the park of the Mississippi River flows from Lake Itasca. The lake is 447 meters above sea level. NN.

The Itasca was first sighted on 13 July 1832 by whites and recognized as the source of the Mississippi.
