Itezhi Tezhi

Itezhi Tezhi is a town with 8,216 inhabitants ( 2006 estimate ) on the Kafue River in the Southern Province in Zambia. Lusaka is situated 115 kilometers away. The place is next to the Itezhitezhi Dam. It is located 1,000 meters above sea level and is the seat of the administrative district of the same name with 43 ​​111 inhabitants ( 2000 census ).

Economy

Itezhi Tezhi thrives on tourism in the Kafue National Park and is known as an idyllic place. The reservoir offers through its electricity generation and maintenance some important jobs in the city as well as the National Park. Itezhi Tezhi has further afield over several lodges and safari camps. There are shops and a petrol station, a hospital, primary and secondary schools. The Ngoma Air Strip lies in unmittelnbarer close at the Kalala Camp.
