Itte Detenamo

Itte Detenamo ( born September 22, 1986 in Buada ) is a nauruischer weightlifter. He is the son of Vinson Detenamo and the cousin of Quincy Detenamo.

Career

Detenamo came about his father and his older sister Rosetta at the age of ten years for weightlifting. A little later he began training with Marcus Stephen.

With Reanna Solomon and Yukio Peter he belonged to the Nauruan Olympic delegation at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He reached in the 105 kg category, although only the 14th place, but leveled it on the first try his personal best of 192.5 kg in bumping. The 197.5 kg failed Detenamo, and the third attempt he left because of dehydration.

At the 2006 Commonwealth Games he won the bronze medal in his weight class with a total score of 360.0 kg. In 2006 and 2007 he was in Apia oceanic master in a duel ( 2006 in the individual disciplines tearing and piercing ), 2008, he finished in the Ozeanienmeisterschaften in Auckland second in the duel, and in pushing and first place in the snatch.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he was the only Nauruan athlete. He took it in his weight class in tenth place and presented with a total of 385 upscale kg ( 175 kg in the snatch, 210 kg in put) a new personal best.
