Iturea

Ituraea (Greek Ἰτουραία, latin Ituraea ) referred to in the past a landscape in the north of Palestine. It included Lebanon, the Anti-Lebanon and lying between these levels of Massyas with the city of Chalcis.

Is named the landscape after the tribe of Ituraeans ( Ἰτουραῖοι ), a nomadic Arab people, which is identified with the mentioned in Gen 25,15 EU and 1 Chr 1,31 EU nation of Jetur. The Romans knew the Ituraeans than predatory people. Their warriors were but estimated as archers.
