Ivan Čupić

Ivan Čupić ( born March 27, 1986 in Metković ) is a Croatian handball player. He is 1.78 m tall.

Čupić, who plays for the Polish club KS Kielce and for the Croatian national team ( shirt number 27) runs is usually used as a right winger.

Career

Ivan Čupić began in his hometown with the handball game. For the local first division club RK Metković he made his debut in the first Croatian league. In 2005 he joined the league rivals RK Zagreb Zagreb Medveščak before he for a year in the Spanish league ASOBAL moved to Octavio Vigo 2007. In the summer of 2008 he went to the Slovenian club RK Velenje, with whom he was national champion in 2009. From the season 2010/11 he was running on Lion for the Bundesliga Rhein- Neckar. In summer 2012 Čupić joined the Polish club KS Kielce.

Ivan Čupić was with the Croatian national team in 2008 Vice European Champion, 2009 Vice World Champion and in 2010 Vice European Champion. In 2009 he was also elected as the best right winger in the All- Star team.

As part of the preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games Čupić suffered a momentous injury: After a stumbling he got caught with his wedding ring in a wire fence, then two-thirds of his ring finger had to be amputated. Čupić missed the Beijing Games, but his later career was not in danger.

Since 2012 CUpic was with the Croatian team three times in a row Third: at the European Championships in 2012, at the Olympic Games 2012 in London - where he was appointed again in the All-Star team - and the World Cup 2013.
