Ivan Glasenberg

Ivan Glasenberg ( born January 7, 1957 in Johannesburg ) is a South African- Australian- Swiss entrepreneurs and managers.

Life

Glasberg studied Finance at the Witwatersrand University and the University of Southern California. Since 1984 he has worked for the company Glencore, whose Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) since 2002 he is. He worked for the company including Australia and Hong Kong. 2012/2013 succeeded the largest shareholder of Glencore merger with Xstrata to Glencore Xstrata. The Group will become the fourth largest producers of raw materials.

Glasenberg is married and has a daughter (* 1989) and a son ( * 1994). He is a native of South Africans. In the late 1980s, when he lived in Australia for two years, he took the Australian, 2011, the Swiss citizenship. Since 1994 he lives in Rüschlikon in the canton of Zurich, where he is also entitled to home. His fortune was estimated in 2012 by the Swiss business magazine balance to 5.5 billion Swiss francs.
